“I loved seeing that project grow in the gallery room outside my office. Despite becoming curious about the type of stuff I saw coming in and out, I deliberately waited to see how it would all come together.  It was a big step into that room from our tech makerspace to the backyard clothesline in a field of flowers.  The magic of hanging the clothes that then put talking faces on the flowers was even a step further - almost into a hallucination.  I think there is potential to go deeper into a sequence or permutations of thoughts and images for playback on the clothesline. I wish it lived permanently outside my office!”

The image of a clothesline recalls a place and time: connecting the windows of tenements in cities past, or evoking the classic Americana of a mother hanging her wash on the line, her child running through the sheets as they catch the breeze in the sunshine. We are spiraled through time, when we pinch  open a clothespin, and choose hang an item to dry. I cannot wait to experience this immersive installation, and see how a simple line stretched from point to point can stir up so much nostalgia for time gone by.
